It's all Fun, Laughter and Happiness for all till the Wedding Day and finally comes the Bidai, the time for all the bride to  leave her loved one for a new start and a life that awaits her.

Its a pool of mixed emotion for every girl, Its a step towards the journey of happily ever after. Its an transition zone where a girl meets the womanhood.

Before crossing the doorstep, she throws back three handfuls of rice and coins over her head, into the house

 as girls are considered the manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity.  

They call it repayment but I call it debt of memories , each rice holding several memories of  being your mother..

Thus, while leaving, this ritual is practice to keep wealth and prosperity intact in her home. 

She turned and a last look..

This is the most emotional moment of the complete marriage ceremony as the bride's family and friends bids her a teary farewell

the parents of bride has to give their daughter responsibility in the son in law’s hand, the daughter whom they have given birth & brought up with love and now they have to hand over to another family where she has to follow their life style.

No matter what, this is one of those moments that will make anyone cry. While I love to capture the emotions so I find bidai as a sea of emotions.
